Egg Hatching & Chick Production

Turning Fertile Eggs into the Next Generation of Production

Defash Farms operates hatchery facilities for the incubation and hatching of fertile poultry eggs. Through proper egg handling, incubation management, hatchery sanitation, chick grading, vaccination, and quality-control procedures, we aim to produce healthy and vigorous day-old chicks for commercial farmers and our own farming operations.

Fertile-Egg Reception & Handling

Eggs entering the hatchery are received and prepared for the incubation process with attention to appropriate handling.

Incubation

Eggs are placed into the incubation system and managed through the required development period under controlled conditions.

Transfer & Hatching

As incubation progresses, eggs move into the appropriate hatching stage for completion of the cycle.

Chick Processing & Grading

Following hatch, chicks are handled and graded in preparation for their next stage of production.

Vaccination Where Required

Vaccination may be incorporated into chick processing where required and agreed for the applicable production or customer requirement.

Packaging & Preparation

Chicks are appropriately prepared for collection, distribution or onward movement into commercial poultry production.
